SNL Kanye kerfuffle goes on as Justin Timberlake tells Fallon crowd to calm down (Video)

SNL and Kanye West were on Justin Timberlake's mind on March 12 as the "Suit and Tie" singer began his week long set of appearances on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." According to an NBC video from the initial night of JT's appearances at 30 Rockefeller Plaza with Fallon, the artist told the host that he really has great affection for West.

Here's how that came about. After breaking down all the sketches in which Justin Timberlake was involved on SNL, the subject of the so-called spat between Kanye and Justin came up. Apparently, when Timberlake switched up for the "Suit and Tie" lyrics on SNL, this caused watchers to notice.

Not shy about such things, Fallon used Timberlake to address the situation. In his defense, Justin said he did not alter the original words to the original song. Not at all.

He asked in a slightly innocent way, but with a distinct twinkle in his eye, "Did it seem that way?"

Then he added, "I don't remember that," even though the live SNL appearance happened two nights before he appeared with Fallon on his first of five nights with the host and obvious Timberlake pal.

At this point, JT spoke directly to the NBC show's audience, telling the crowd to calm down and get over this possible slight to Kim Kardashian's baby daddy.

By way of background, all this back and forth came about in February when Kanye put down Timberlake for doing a duet with his best friend, Jay-Z, on the new disc. Still, Justin wanted to set the record straight and so he told the Fallon folks and Jimmy, too, that he cares about West.

"I love Kanye," stated a coy Justin Timberlake, not going any further regarding the SNL kerfuffle when he did or did not change the lyrics as he addressed the situation between the two artists while appearing on the other late night NBC show with Jimmy Fallon.
