Megyn Kelly, host of the Fox News broadcast "The Fox File," is becoming a laughing stock with her recent remarks that Jesus and Santa Claus are "white." As we reported here today, Kelly backed off the Jesus race-baiting crack, but stuck to her guns on the jolly old man.
"Santa is just white," Kelly said firmly and in the spirit of the Fox News pretend "War on Christmas."
Jon Stewart weighed in on "The Daily Show." Megyn Kelly reassured children watching that Santa was not only very real, white. Stewart to the point:
"Whom are you actually talking to?" Stewart asked. "Children who are sophisticated enough to be watching a news channel at 10:00 at night, yet innocent enough to still believe Santa Claus is real, yet racist enough to be freaked out if he isn't white? That's such a narrow audience!"
In the biggest insult of all, Saturday Night Live last night is poking fun at Kelly and the Fox News network, something they are especially adept.
Introduced by Weekend Update host, Cicily Strong said Megan Kelly sparks controversy when she says, 'Kids, Santa is white.' Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable, doesn't mean it has to change."
Last night on Saturday Night Live, Santa Claus made an appearance through one of the case members, the always hilarious Kenan Thompson. Fox News’ Megyn Kelly started this week when she declared that Santa Claus is white.
"You heard of secret Santa. Here's a secret for ya. Santa Claus is black as hell," declared Santa Claus. "If word got out I was black, I'd get pulled over every ten minutes."
He explained how Kelly could get that impression, saying that being white actually helps get Christmas night deliveries done faster, and said "White guys taking credit for what a black guy did? I’m more used to it than I am okay with it."
Santa Claus dropped off the original draft of The Night Before Christmas that authenticated his claim. "His eyes, how they twinkled, his dimples, they amaze," Santa Claus recited, "and when I saw him I exclaimed, 'Damn is that Isaac Hayes?'" Cicily Strong asked it doesn't bother you that Megyn Kelly says your white.
Have you known a white man to wear an all red suit?" asked Santa, who also revealed on of his reindeer is gay. When Cicily Strong asked which one, Santa looked at he askance, "Prancer."
The black Santa admitted there was one thing that puzzled him: "What is Kwanza?"
Cicily Strong admitted she didn't know.
At closing the black Santa pleaded that since this is a year of changes, so when "Santa sneaks into your house, don't call the police."
