According to the Calgary Roughnecks website, Geoff Snider of the Calgary Roughnecks has been named the week five transition player of the week by the National Lacrosse League on Wednesday.
Snider collected 22 loose balls and won 27 of a possible 36 faceoffs in a 18-15 Calgary win in Edmonton on Saturday night at Rexall Place.
With the win, the Roughnecks improved to 3-2 on the season and have a half game lead on the Washington Stealth and Colorado Mammoth in the West Division.
It was the second consecutive week Snider was named the transition player of the week. In week four, Snider won 23 of 29 faceoffs and collected 15 loose balls in a 19-12 win over the Colorado Mammoth and then won 20 of 26 faceoffs and collected 13 loose balls in a 16-8 win over the Philadelphia Wings.
Snider was one of three Roughnecks to be named player of the week for week four, joining Shawn Evans as the offensive player of the week and Mike Poulin as the defensive player of the week.
