With only about a month to go before the release of the movie 2012 along with Adam Lambert's single Time for Miracles from the soundtrack, fans can get a little taste of what's to come out on AOL video and YouTube (posted by Amazon).
The AOL video also provides a trailer for the movie and some behind-the-scenes video with Adam. Check it out here.
The song sounds fantastic so far--very polished, full of emotion, and Adam's unique talent shines through once again. Many listeners think the fabulous Mr. Lambert may even position himself for an Oscar nomination for the soundtrack.
I'll be curious to see how well the single sells once it's released, and I'm looking forward to hearing the entire song. Adam's wild success proves once again that you don't have to nab the title to be a winner.

Just to be clear Adam wouldn't be able to win the Oscar himself, but certainly HIS performance of it could end in the result that the song itself (writers and producers) would be nominated. I'd be happy just to see him on the red carpet and performing it live..would be THE highlight of the Oscars this year for me for sure!!
Based on shadamholic response, it sounds like Adam didn't write this song. Kris Allen got bashed for not writing the song in his first single. But it is ok for Adam Lambert not to write his first song??? Whatever. Sounds like a double standard to me. I listened to the song. It is a good a song. But it is just not "catchy" enough for me. I have heard better EPIC motion picture soundtrack songs. And that is not a diss on Adam since he didn't write it. He sings it VERY well. However, it does not sounds like a "classic rock ballad" to me which is what it was promoted as. I don't know what genre you would call it, but it definately isn't a rock song...lol
After re-listening to the song. It DOES sound like a soft rock song, but I don't know if I would call it classic rock. I stand corrected.
Personally. I think Axil Rose is much better than Adam Lambert. I think Axil Rose is one of the best rock singers of all time. Axil Rose has a very unique voice that stands out, very edgy. Adam Lambert has amazing technique. I just don't hear anything unique or special about the sound of his voice, other than, his technique. Deloris O'Riordan of The Cranberries is what I would consider a unique voice as well. Much more interesting than Adam's voice.
Kris Allen is unique because of his fluctuations he does with his voice. He might not be as polished as Adam. But he can turn a rap song like Heartless into "folk". Kris Allen was amazing when he sang Falling Slowly and the way he interpretted it to the audience. And his soulful rendition of Ain't No Sunshine was amazing as well. The unique interpretaton of She Works Hard for the Money??? Absolutely wonderful. I don't know how anyone couldn't like this guy. He even has a cute accent that sometimes comes across in his singing.
Why is it that when I hear Adam sing I think of opera?
@allisongokey,
I think you just nailed it on the head what it is about Adam's voice that I don't like when relating him to rock n' roll. His voice does sound like opera when he hits those amazing high notes. I just can't fathom associating opera with rock. And really the only think special about his voice is his high range. That is why I don't understand what all the fuss is about his voice. Sure, he is good enough to be successful in music, but I think his talent and association with ROCK has been over exaggerated. If I want to hear amazing falsetto, I prefer to listen to Kate Bush or Tori Amos.
I just got done listening to the song Beautiful Moon, Wastin Time, and Brand New Shoes by Kris Allen and I don't see how anyone can say that Kris Allen isn't just as talented as Adam Lambert. Kris' unique style, fluctuations, and delivery of the songs are simply amazing. His American Idol win should never be considered an upset.
The trailer became emotional, and actually had true drawing power. It now does is an effective trailer. I want to see the entire movie and certainly to hear the entire song as sung by such an amazing singers. Adam Lambert's powerful and emotional voice is extraordinary. It's always a Time for Miracles, but hearing even this snippet of the song gives many of us hope.
This is the sound track of a movie and personally I think Adam's voice is killer AMAZING!! Add to that his incredible charisma you and have a super hit. This song is not going to be on his album - he did it strictly for the movie. I can't wait for his CD, it will be quite different from this and I can't wait to hear it. Adam is such a dynamic performer and I hope they do music videos from his album. Just love this guy.
It seems like some Adam fans can't get over Kris' win, and some Kris fans can't get over Adam's post-idol success. They are not in competition any more; they are completely different kinds of singers. They love each other and I love them both. Can't we stop all these silly comparisons?
But Ladonna, to be fair, the complaint with Kris' single wasn't that he didn't write it ( Cook didn't write Light On either) but that it was a cover of a song already recorded by another artist, and that Kris didn't change it up. If Adam's first single is a cover that sounds exactly like the recording by the original artist there will be criticisms of that too. (But what are the chances, really?)
Ladonna...we get it, you are a Kris Allen fan, he is very nice just not a remarkable singer. Adam is a gifted singer, no need to try and tear him down just to promote Kris. Adam is amazing and I wish him great success.
It doesnt matter at all who wrote and who didnt write the songs. What matters to me is the performance and the voice of the singer. And from I have heard of the song, Adam' voice is amazing..his voice captures the emotion of the song and what the song is trying to project.. and his opera experience adds to the emotion of the song. BRAVO ADAM LAMBERT!!! YOU ARE ONE IN A MILLION!!!
Why do some people think that opera is a bad thing for a singer..it is a plus!!!
@Ellen
But what difference does it make if the song was never released as a single and NEVER played on the radio? Kris' verson does sound a little different and you can't even buy The Scripts version off Itunes. Kris Allen owns the song. So no. This isn't the same as redoing a song on American Idol. The Script sold their song and never released it.
KRIS ALLEN WILL ALWAYS LIVE IN THE SHADOW OF ADAM LAMBERT,KRIS HIMSELF SAID ADAM WILL BE HUGE AND BIGGER THAN HE,KRIS IS A NICE GUY WHO HAS TALENT BUT HE CAN SEE ADAM IS A REMARKABLE TALENT WHO WILL NOT BE SURPRISED FOR ALL THE SUCCESS ADAM IS ALREADY ADAM IS HAVING SINCE IDOL ENDED!!!!!TIME FOR MIRACLES......IS JUST THE BEGINNING FOR OUR BOY ADAM!!!!!!!!!A WORLD CLASS STAR WHO WILL BE ICONIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adam Lambert's voice is often reminiscent of opera because he has a gorgeous, rich voice that he has trained since he was a child. This is a gift that he shares with us. Why do these great singers have to write their own music anyway? I think one gift at a time is plenty. If someone writes a song, and someone else sounds better singing it , then do it. Who cares? Kris is good, just different. I really wish Kris and Adam would perform together. They are just adorable. They have great chemistry together.
What do you mean you can't associate rock with opera? Don't you remember "Tommy"? It was a fantastic rock opera. It was a huge part of rock history. I would LOVE to see Adam Lambert star in a Remake of "Tommy"!!! OMG now that would be epic!
@Th Wicked Glitter - What a great idea for Adam to remake Tommy! Though I'm a huge fan of the original with Roger Daltry...but it would be fantastic to see his version. Or maybe he'll create an original rock opera himself, like Hedwig and the Angry Inch...I wouldn't be surprised if he whipped up a little something like that.
@Ladonna - Curious as to how this article prompted you to turn this into yet another Adam/Kris debate? I appreciate the comments, as always, however this article is about Adam Lambert with no mention of Kris...??
Melanie,
I was just giving my opinion about Adam's new song. And I had to point out the fact that he didn't write it, not there is anything wrong with him not writing it. I just feel it is hypocrisy that Kris got bashed for not writing his own first release. That's all I have to say about this article. And I will wait patiently to see what kind words you have to say about Kris' new album when it comes out.
Great article Adam Lambert is a talent that comes along only once in a generation. The vocals on this song our totally goosebump amazing! I want to go to the movie and stand up and clap when Adam's name appears on the credit. I dream of the day when you write an article without any mention Of Kris and idiots don't show up and start talking about him when there is absolutely no mention of him in your article
i guess i'll get pretty emotional when i see the movie because of Adam. it's amazing to think that how far he has come and will reach in the future.
Dear Melanie, Thank you for sharing my opinion about Adam starring in a remake of "Tommy". OMG, It would be great! I hope he dosesn't disguise his gorgeous looks though. You know, the way Johnnie Depp sometimes does. The look Adam had when he toured at The Palace of Auburn Hills was perfect. That man was sooo Hot.
@Wicked Glitter - I'm betting Adam would look amazing no matter what...but I hear ya! He's definitely easy on the eyes...
@Ladonna - I beg to differ that you were merely giving your opinion on Adam's new song--which I'm thrilled that you wanted to share. But to quote "I just got done listening to the song Beautiful Moon, Wastin Time, and Brand New Shoes by Kris Allen and I don't see how anyone can say that Kris Allen isn't just as talented as Adam Lambert. Kris' unique style, fluctuations, and delivery of the songs are simply amazing. His American Idol win should never be considered an upset" - not sure what this has to do with this article, or Adam's song. Seems like it's stricly about Kris Allen.
Again, I love the feedback and love that you want to share your thoughts, I just don't see why Kris Allen had to be brought into this when the article is about Adam's upcoming song. Just goes to show that even when he's not mentioned, someone has to bring Kris up. Very interesting...
Melanie,
I guess you have a point there. However, I noticed past articles you referred to Kris as Kris "what's his name" and things like that. Like I said, I will wait patiently to see what kind words you will have to say about Kris Allen' album once it comes out.
ADAM is simply PHENOMENAL! All his fiercely loyal fans know that. I'm just so happy the whole world will get to know that as well with his debut song. What a BEST way to start your phenomenal career, ADAM! I can't think any way better than this. It would be the ENVY of anyone just starting in showbiz. All the fanfare is just fitting for someone sensational as ADAM. There's no denying, ADAM is IT! ADAM is The BOMB! And it's time for MIRACLES!
And yes. Adam is a extremely talented guy. He has star quality which is probably why everyone gravitates to him. His vocal SKILLS are phenominal. I will buy his album if I like the style and sound of it. I will wait to hear the demos on Itunes after it is released. If all the songs are like ATFM, then I doubt I will be inclined to buy it. If his songs are progressive sounding like when he sang Ring of Fire, then I may like them.
Kris will likely do just fine, but there is simply nothing ORIGINAL about him. There are many singers in the business who sing in his style, but they do it better. Also, Kris needs to take vocal lessons to learn how to hit the high notes without the facial grimaces and body crunching. Kris amazing? Not by a long shot.
Mmmm. He hit some high notes while performing Heartless, Falling Slowly, and The Way You Look Tonight. I didn't see any grimacing. Just sweet smiles and gestures while presenting it to the audience. The only song I remember him struggling with is Apologize. I have all his performances saved so I can review everyone of them. You are going to criticize him for one bad performance. Whatever. You say there is nothing original about Kris. What is original about Adam? It ain't the black eyeliner nail polish, and hair dye. That isn't new. What is Adam's style of singing? I don't even know yet until I hear his album. He sings the song from 2012 very well, but I don't see anything unique about the style. He simply sings it.
Ladonna
And another thing. I have listened to some of Kris' songs from a previously released album called Brand New Shoes and I have never heard that style of music and singing on the pop scene. So wouldn't that mean that he is pretty original?
@Ladonna - it is all your opinion and you keep it to yourself. One cannot argue with one's taste. It's all subjective.
Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but if MAJORITY think it is, then IT IS, especially coming from those in authority of the subject matter. If MAJORITY & AUTHORITY think it is NOT, then IT IS NOT! If someone disagrees with MAJORITY & AUTHORITY, then it is your own subjective personal opinion better kept shut.
Think MONA LISA.
I laughed out loud at this response. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that musical taste is subjective. First off, you have yet to establish any majority??? What majority? And that is flawed logic anyway. You say the minority should keep their mouths shut. That's just plain wrong. The majority in this country at one time was ok with slavery. If it wasn't for the minority speaking out against it, then where would we be today? The majority in California voted to outlaw same sex marriage. Are they automatically correct because they are a majority? I think not. I don't think their opinions (as a majority) is correct either. And quit telling people to shut up or shut their mouths. That's rude.
Ladonna
