Professional skateboarder Ryan Sheckler is asking his Twitter followers for feedback on his new signature shoe.

The new sneaker will be released by etnies (which already has two Sheckler models in its lineup), one of the companies under the umbrella of Sole Technologies, owned by former professional French freestyle skateboarder Pierre André Senizergues.

Ryan uploaded the above image yesterday on yfrog, an online service that allows users to share photos and videos on Twitter.

Although Sheckler has 875,571 followers on Twitter, at the time of this posting, there were about 85 comments on his posting (less than 0.001%).

While nearly all of them are positive, the majority are from female followers, and some of them ask him to add feminine touches to the shoe, like HW_GlamourGirl who wrote [sic]:

“you should make some for girls just like this and add colors like pink, purple, green etc otherwise i like them”.

While the number of male responses is much lower, some are revealing, like KevinSchultz22, who wrote:

“Kinda look like a mix between the Vans Half Cab and the Vans Chuckka Low, but still pretty dope”.

Others can be very harsh. MiniGreek, for example, says [sic]:

“Another Vans ripoff by the good folks at Sole Tech....but better than your last huge-logo'd puffy bro shoe....”

What do you think? Feel free to leave a comment.

Like other fellow Brazilian skaters living in SoCal these days, before coming to US, Luiz paid his dues in his home country. After publishing his own fanzine, he got hired by local Yeah! magazine as a photographer and writer. A year later, he got picked up by Skatin' and soon became its award...
