There have been a lot of frightening things found on or in food lately. Deadly spiders found in bananas and grapes are things that would scare anyone. Still, as FearNet reported on Dec. 3, 2013, those discoveries have nothing on the woman that opened up a bag of frozen vegetables and happened to find the severed head of a snake inside.
Misty Moser is a mother in Oregon who simply wanted to make dinner for her family and she had a bag of frozen green beans to prepare. That was when she noticed something strange.
Moser poured the bag of green beans out and saw a clump of them stuck together, but that clump ended up being something else. The frozen veggies defrosted in water and that was when Moser realized the clump was actually the severed head of a snake.
Needless to say, but it frightened her beyond belief.
"It started to kind of unfold," she told KOIN 6 News. "It was in a little ball and I noticed it had a mouth, and nostrils, and little tiny eyes. Not what I had thought I was buying."
The mother called the supermarket chain where she purchased the vegetables and all they advised her to do was throw away the bag and gave her a $15 coupon. A customer service representative later told Moser bring the severed snake head and bag of frozen veggies in for a look over.
An investigation is ongoing to see how it happened and how it can be prevented from happening again.
