Nicki Minaj will be performing her current single "Anaconda" this Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards. She was slated to take the stage with a 6-foot long, real-life anaconda; however, it might be onto Plan B for the rapper. According to TMZ, one of her dancers was bitten by the snake during rehearsal.
The dancer was rushed to the hospital and is being treated. While not venomous, anaconda bites often transmit bacteria that can develop into serious infections.
The snake was transported off the stage in a container and it is unclear whether it will still make an appearance during the VMAs.
This would not be the first time a snake is used in a VMA performance; Britney Spears famously appeared with a yellow python during her performance of "I'm a Slave 4 U" at the 2001 awards.
Minaj just released her racy video for the single this week, which is off her latest album "The Pinkprint." At this time, the release date is still unknown.
