Authorities identified the two shoplifters as Anthony Barnes, 24, and Nashara Arnold, 24. The duo is accused of going into Cobb Blvd.'s T.J. Maxx department store and stealing over $1,300 in clothing. Arnold reportedly walked in the store, posing as a customer, and loaded a shopping cart full of clothes. Shortly after, Barnes allegedly entered the store, grabbed the clothes from the cart, and attempted to run out of the store.

"(She) put it in a basket and then Mr. Barnes came in behind her snatched up the clothing and ran out of the store,” said Officer Chris Graef with the Smyrna police.

Barnes and Arnold have already stolen from several other stores before T.J. Maxx. However, a loss prevention specialist grabbed Barnes on his way out and confronted him, resulting in Barnes dropping the clothing, along with his cellphone, before running away. The cell phone was then investigated by the police, which led to the duo's identities. Authorities were also able to pin both suspects to other shoplifting reports via information on the cellphone.

In addition to several stores in Cobb, the suspects reportedly hit stores in Fulton and Dunwoody as well. According to Officer Barnes, the duo would steal clothing from one store and take the merchandise to another store and return it for cash.

Both Arnold and Barnes are now facing felony shoplifting charges.Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the suspects are urged to call the Smyrna police at 678-6341-5093.
