The growing audience of the America’s Cup yacht race is one more reason leading yacht shows sell out space quickly and welcome ever growing numbers of visitors. The luxury yacht category leader, the Monaco Yacht Show, will start tomorrow and continue through September 28. The careful preparations for a major yacht show and the arrivals of some of the world’s most spectacular yachts augur smooth sailing ahead for Monaco Yacht Show.
The Monaco Yacht Show takes place each September in Port Hercule, a classic yacht basin located between a large aquatic sports center and a stately cruise ship terminal. The setting makes it easy to view the entire show from one vantage point. The yacht harbor is framed with elegant white canvas tents which will host exhibitors from a range of related businesses from yacht charter companies to luxury timepiece e manufacturers. There will also be a luxury watch auction at the event, called appropriately the “Only Watch” auction. Sponsor Ullysee-Nardin is reinforcing the luxury image and “aspire factor” that propels luxury marketing success.
The yachts being featured for sale and rental to the world’s most discerning yachtsmen point in a different direction than the ultra-high-technology double hull designs featured in this year’s America’s Cup. Contoured designs that maximize the space usable for crew and guests are filling the picturesque harbor at Port Hercule. The focus on quality is equally notable. The project actually features an ISO system quality certificate from the International Standards Organization.
Quality has its price, but select charters remain relatively affordable. While yachts featured range from $250,000 to over $ 1 million, off-season yacht charters can be arranged for under $10,000 per week. For groups of six to ten passengers, the cost is very competitive compared to one-week stays at luxury resorts. And all rooms come with ocean views!
