Smokin' Joe Biden: Tears into Munster Kid Paul Ryan like Pacquiao KO 2 Hatton

Through 50-plus years at the most important fights across the globe, my worst enemies would grant me this.

I know a mismatch when I see one. In fact, particularly in the early stages of developing Shannon Briggs into a media monster, I was guilty of creating a number of them. Hey, I was just following the Mike Tyson model.

I saw a horrendous mismatch Thursday night, this one limited to verbal volleys. While President Obama was lame and limp when he crossed swords with Mitt Romney, VP Smokin' Joe Biden turned the heat up so bad on Munster Kid lookalike Paul Ryan that it was pathetic.

Biden, the "Delaware Destroyer" and a neighbor there of both Michael Spinks and Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins, played with Ryan on any and all subjects in their debate like Muhammad Ali at his zenith back slapping, front slapping and side slapping poor sparmates such as Mel Turnbow and Harvey Cody Jones.

The topic didn't matter, Ryan stuttered, sputtered and Badman Biden never hesitated in counterpunching with facts and copious corrections of misstatements spewing from the cheesy Wisconsin resident's lips.

I gave the opening round to Biden, I gave the closing round to Biden.

I gave all the rounds to Biden and Ryan is just lucky that Joe Cortez was not the referee because anyone who is "fair but firm" would have stopped the onslaught halfway through.

When the moderator, excellent and on point at all times Martha Raddatz, asked for specifics, Ryan hemmed, hawed and offered nothing.

At his worst, Ryan got hammered like Roberto Duran taking that go to sleep shot from Thomas Hearns.

Guess we should've known that Biden was not going to tiptoe through the tulips like Obama did.

Before the debate, Amtrak Joe said, "Did you ever know me to rope a dope?"

Subtlety is not Biden's strong point but sincerity is.

Ryan did not show how badly he was flustered even on the most staggering Biden shots.

Give Ryan two style points for not tearing up, I guess.

My first world title experience was Lewiston, Maine, 1965, Liston KO 1 loser in rematch with Clay nee Ali.

Liston was more effective then than Ryan was versus Biden.

Smokin' Joe showed Bossman Barry how the professionals handle lightweight pretenders.
