October is Archives Month, and now that the federal government is back in business, the Smithsonian Institute is also back on track to celebrate this month-long event. Without traveling all the way to Washington, D.C., you can benefit from the expertise of our nation's finest archival minds, TODAY, October 29, until 6 p.m. this evening.

From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. local time, the Smithsonian Institute has archival specialists available through the Smithsonian's facebook page. The event, Ask an Archivist, will provide assistance in organizing and preserving your personal and family history. Archivists and conservators will be able to answer your queries about paper documents, old photographs, home movies, audio and video tape, and even electronic records.
