Kevin Smith is now speaking out about his lost friendship with Ben Affleck and he is blaming it on his wife Jennifer Garner. On Wednesday, US Magazine shared what he had to say about it all. They have actually worked together on several films but the last one was "Jersey Girl" back in 2004 which was a fan favorite.
Smith was actually asked about the chance that fans could get a surprise from them at Comic-Con this year and that news about a "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" was coming out. Kevin's answer wasn't what was expected at all though. He said, "Great question. I don’t know, because we're not f---ing tight. I have not been [close with him] in decades. That's old Ben," he said. "He's got a wife [Jennifer Garner] that don't [sic] care for me at all [Laughs]. And plus, honestly, he probably don't care for me at all anymore [either]. He's a triple-A-list movie star and s--t like that. If he's Jimmy Carter, I'm Billy Carter, to put it in '70s terms. And I'm not even related and s--t."
It was honestly really shocking to hear him speak out like that about Ben Affleck. Nobody knew for sure that they were not friends even though earlier in the month Kevin did act like there were problems. It doesn't sound like Kevin Smith and Jennifer Garner have the same kind of sense of humor. This could be the reason he doesn't do much with Affleck anymore.
It does sound like these two just stay to themselves most of the time. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have a happy marriage and they seem to be focused on each other instead of their friends from the past.
