'Smite' now in open beta

Hi-Rez Studio’s MOBA game “Smite” is now officially in an open beta. The third person action packed competitive game has been in a closed beta for months now. The opening of the beta brings with it some serious updates and changes to make the game more competitive. If you didn't get into the closed beta, now’s your chance.

The updates to the game include some awesome new skins and graphics updates to the conquest map. The most exciting updates are what will help make “Smite” a more competitive game on par with other MOBA’s like “League of Legends” or “DoTA”. There is now the ability to play draft mode, create ranked teams and an impressive spectator mode.

For those that were involved in the closed beta, their loyalty will be rewarded. Closed beta members that have reached level 30 before the open beta launch will receive a free demonic Ymir skin. For those already involved in the up-and –coming game there’s a refer a friend feature. Similar to mentorship programs seen in other online multiplayer games in-game rewards are given to players who refer friends and as the referred player continues playing and leveling up in the game further rewards are given to you.

“Smite” is a unique take on the MOBA style game and going into open beta and becoming more competitive should help the game stay afloat amongst its competitors. Despite having beta following it will be interesting to see how “Smite” will hold up against more established titles in the genre. Check out “Smite” for yourself before its official launch, estimated for some time in March.
