Smashburger, the hamburger chain with three locations in Orange County, has brought back their popular Salted Caramel Milkshake in time for the holidays. In an exclusive Examiner interview today with Leslie Cordero, manager of the Mission Viejo location, she gave the “scoop” on the newest and most popular of the Smashburger shakes. “They've just re-released the Salted Caramel Milkshake for the holidays. This is the first time I've tried it today and it's really good. Before this, they had the Mint Oreo Shake and that was really good. I hope they bring it back too!”. Leslie also talked about the October shake, the Raspberry Sorbet Shake that Smashburger had for a limited time in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, saying, “It was really good too, I like it”.
Leslie has been at the Smashburger in the Shops at Mission Viejo Mall since they opened. “I started working here when they opened, about a year and two months now. I really like it”. One of the things she likes to do is custom make the shakes. “I really like to put a little more of the salted caramel syrup in it. I like a lot of caramel in it!”. The hand-made Häagen-Dazs® shake combines premium Häagen-Dazs® vanilla ice cream with Salted Caramel syrup, providing customers with an indulgent sweet treat.
Smashburger had originally introduced the Salted Caramel Shake in January of 2013 as one of the shakes they have created as a limited time treat. With lots of customer requests, they went to their social media sites and asked their customers which shake they wanted to bring back. The clear winner was the Salted Caramel Shake.
"One of the things our guests love most about Smashburger is our thick and creamy hand-spun premium shakes, and our Salted Caramel shake has proven to be a fan favorite. Customers truly appreciate being served a shake with quality ice cream like Häagen-Dazs® and having the ability to order multiple flavors to pair with their meal,” said Tom Ryan, Founder and Chief Concept Officer for Smashburger. Leslie agrees, and is enjoying her role in bringing Smashburger favorites like the Salted Caramel Shake to her customers. As she made up one of the shakes, she showed how they are made to order. The shakes are blended in a stainless steel cup on one of the traditional shake machines. The taste was excellent, with the sweetness of the caramel tempered by the slight saltiness present in it. The shake was creamy and topped with a dollop of whipped cream. As Leslie presented the finished shake, she said, “It's a great shake. You'll really like it.”. She was right!
Smashburger is also offering Orange County residents the “OC Burger,” which is 100-percent Certified Angus Beef burger topped with grilled sautéed mushrooms, grilled onions, baby arugula, aged Swiss cheese and truffle mayo on an egg bun. In addition, for the holiday season, back are Smashburger holiday gift cards, complete with a bonus gift for the gift giver as well. Smashburger will be offering $5 in Smash Cash, valid January 1, 2014 through January 31, 2014, for every $25 gift card purchased.
