Burgers and beer, beer and burgers no matter how you say it both go well with each other. So thought the people at Smashburger http://smashburger.com/ and Tempe based Four Peaks Brewing Company http://fourpeaks.com/, so much so that they worked hard to see which burgers and sandwiches paired well with Four Peaks beers. After all the tasting and re-tasting and tasting again the final result is 8 Smashburgers and sandwiches paired with 4 Four Peaks beers.
The pairings were introduced last week with Smashburger Founder Tom Ryan and Four Peaks Owner and Brewmaster Andy Ingram in attendance to speak about eachs product and why the pairings work so well. Smashburger is the first national fast- casual concept to push beer and burger pairings and it's part of the companies initiative to work with certain local vendors in major U.S. markets. "Beer is the new wine" says Smashburger's Ryan and with the growth of the craft brewing industry and Four Peaks award winning beers it seemed like a natural partnership. The 4 beers included have won 13 awards from the World Beer Cup and The Great American Beer Festival and was recently named one of the Top 50 craft breweries in the U.S., a significant accomplishment considering the beers are only available in Arizona.
The pairings are as follows.

Mushroom Swiss Burger & 8th St. English-Style Pale Ale
BBQ, Bacon and Cheddar Burger & Kilt Lifter Scottish-Style Ale
