"Smash" is ready to make its big return to NBC. The series went through major changes after season one wrapped, and one of those changes included the addition of Jennifer Hudson to the cast. She is featured in the new photos. Jeremy Jordan is another of the new arrivals, and he said the following about his arrival on the series and his character's romance with Karen:
"It’s like there’s that sort of unspoken connection between [Karen and Jimmy] from the moment they meet. There’s something that draws them together — that sort of unspeakable energy — [but] each one keeps getting in the other’s way. It’s like this constant tug and pull, and just when you think something might happen with them, something gets in the way. Life, circumstance and themselves are not making it very easy for them to be romantic with each other in a consistent manner."
As for the new sneak peeks released, the first sneak peek hints at trouble for Bombshell. The last three sneak peeks show various performances. A performance by Hudson and one performance from each of the starring ladies of the series, Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty, are featured.
As for the series, TV Line did reveal more about the trouble the musical is having. The site revealed the following about the battle over the role of Marilyn Monroe:
"A bigger question (at least at the start of the season) is whether there will be a Marilyn for one of them to play, given all the financial issues plaguing Bombshell. Once that gets answered (News Flash: Yes, of course, there will be a Marilyn for someone to play), I have a hunch we won’t know whose name will be on the marquee until opening night (aka the Season 2 finale)."
Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
so excited for this show to be on again! #smash #oneweek #yay
"Smash" will air season two on Channel 12 in Tempe starting Feb. 5.
