Small Businesses in New Mexico Gain Competitive Edge with Comcast Business

In 2013, Comcast Business empowered small businesses in New Mexico with innovative services and solutions to help them compete with large enterprises.

Throughout the year, Comcast introduced several exciting advancements for Business customers including:
• HD channel additions in Farmington, Gallup, Los Alamos, and Silver City
• The introduction of Business Voice service in Deming, Gallup, Portales, Silver City and Taos.
• Business Internet speed increases in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces and Farmington.
• Launch of the Upware™ marketplace, a suite of cloud-based business solutions that can be purchased through one integrated web portal
• Business Class Signature Support, which provides small business customers with their own IT help desk
• The successful launch of Business VoiceEdge in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, and Farmington, a voice and unified communications solution that is fully managed over Comcast’s network

The Upware™ marketplace is particularly significant for small businesses in the ever-increasing digital age. In an October 2013 poll of more than 1,700 businesses, 80 percent of respondents said that they are using cloud-based applications, and nearly half are using as many as they can. The results of the poll suggest that not only are businesses embracing cloud-based services, but that the benefits they are seeing have caused them to adopt additional services to run their businesses more efficiently. Applications available to businesses through the marketplace include Microsoft Exchange, Norton Internet Security, DocuSign, Website Hosting, MozyPro Online Backup and more.

Albuquerque advertising agency Media Matched uses the full suite of Comcast Business services (Internet, TV and Voice) at their office. Husband and wife team John and Shelly Gregory say the most important feature is the reliability. “Comcast Business is the engine that our business runs on and we are constantly utilizing our Internet service to send scripts and commercials to our clients, and to upload commercials to local media outlets,” John Gregory said. “Being a busy, small company makes reliability very important, and working with Comcast has given us the peace of mind we need.”

Albuquerque small business, Zuni Coffee, delivers coffee and tea supplies to business offices throughout Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Owner Brandon Wynn switched to Comcast Business Internet after his DSL line from their previous providers failed to supply the reliable, fast service required to process customer orders. “Our business is built on efficiency and having the additional bandwidth from Comcast has accelerated the way we work,” said Brandon Wynn, owner of Zuni Coffee. “I’m spending less time doing daily administrative tasks and my employees are more responsive to customer needs because they don’t have to worry about slow connections, extended downtime and message delays. We’re just moving faster.”
