Small Business Person nominations extended

Since 1963, the Small Business Administration has honored small business owners and entrepreneurs for their outstanding achievements in the form of awards during Small Business Week. These awards include, but are not limited to Small Business Person of the Year, 8(a) Graduate of the Year, Women’s Business Center of Excellence Award, Federal Procurement Awards and many more.

The Small Business Administration has extended its nomination process for the North Carolina Small Business Person of the Year Award. The deadline has been extended to January 31, 2013 and nomination packets must be received by the North Carolina District Office in Charlotte.

Nominations are open to individuals who own or operate, or who bears principle responsibility for operating a small business. The business must be defined as “small” by the SBA. Nominees must have not received the award at the state level in the past five years.
