Small business owners join event in San Antonio

The number of small business owners in San Antonio are growing and on Tuesday June 10th over 350 owners will be attending a one-day event to learn how to continue growing their business by connecting with the government.

It is called "OPEN for Government Contracts Success Series". The day will offer panel discussions featuring local business owners who will share their success. This is a free event that will be held at the Hyatt Regency at 123 Losoya starting with registration from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The keynote speaker will be Pamela Sapia of the San Antonio SBA district office and the event runs till 5 p.m.

It is hosted by American Express OPEN, "helping businesses do more business".

There will be valuable topics and resources offered throughout the day such as workshops and leadership development plus topics on marketing and communications. Review the full list of break out sessions on the website and register in advance.

One key topic will be "Contract Connections" which is a free one-to-one targeted meeting between small business owners and government procurement officials. According to a company official, "the government plans to spend approximately $90 billion with small businesses this year...".
