Saint Louis University point guard Jordair Jett was named Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball Player of the Week on Monday, after helping lead the Billikens to a pair of wins over league foes Richmond and George Mason last week.

Jett, who claimed his second A-10 Player of the Week honor this season, averaged 19.5 points per game in the two victories and helped SLU improved to 20-2 overall and 7-0 in A-10 Conference play.

SLU has won 14 straight games and also found out on Monday, that it had risen to No. 13 overall in the Associated Press' top 25 national poll. The Billikens were slotted No. 19 last week, but rose six spots following its historic 20th win of the season last Saturday.

Before then, no SLU team in history had ever began a season with a 20-2 mark.

A native of St. Paul, Minn., Jett was a key factor in both wins, turning in 21 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in the Billikens' dominating win over then-second place Richmond last Wednesday.

Then on Saturday, the SLU team captain had 18 points in a thrilling over team win over George Mason.

For the week, Jett connected on 14 of 27 shots from the field (51.9 percent) and on 11 of 15 attempts from the free throw line (73.3 percent).

This season, Jett is scoring at 17.9 points per game in conference games, which ranks fourth-best among A-10 players.

SLU will take the court next on Wdnesday, when it will travel to Philadelphia for a matchup against Saint Joseph's. Tip-off that night is scheduled for 6 p.m.
