After a bye week last week the St. Louis Park Orioles return to the gridiron Friday night when the host the Fridley Tigers.
In their season opener August 23, the Orioles lost to the Jackson County Central Huskies 21-7, spoiling Ben Wolfe's regular season debut as head coach.
The key to the game for St. Louis Park is to cut down on turnovers and quarterback Quinn Livdahl has to get into a rhythm that will test the Fridley defense.
As for the Tigers, they opened up their season last Friday with 19-6 non conference win over the Zimmerman Thunder. No individual or team statistics were posted for Fridley but they have a returning quarterback in Nick Rathke. But the Tigers main strength is their defense. They scored three safeties in their opening game. Can the tiger defense stop Livdahl and Oriole running back Bryant Griffin Jr. or will they get solid line play to solve the Tigers?
Game time is 7 PM. The temperature will be around 90 so if you go, be sure and bring a water bottle.
