Newlywed Janet Jackson flaunts 60-lb weight loss at Milan Fashion Week

Singer Janet Jackson showcased her stunning 60-pound weight loss at the Giorgio Armani fashion show during Milan Fashion Week in Italy on Feb. 25.

Janet, 46, donned a black turtleneck sweater and parachute pants topped off by a waist-cinching blazer that accentuated her slender midriff. She was accompanied by her husband, 37-year-old Qatari billionaire Wissam al Mana, whom she wed in a private ceremony last year.

Janet has successfully maintained the 60 pounds she lost last year by following a healthy, portion-controlled diet and working out regularly. The 5-foot-4-inch Jackson, who once topped the scales at over 180 pounds, says she was prediabetic at her heaviest weight.

"When I gained weight in 2005, my nutritionist was very worried," Jackson told Prevention. "I was close to having diabetes. Even when I lost it [and] then gained quite a bit back, there was always the thought of heart disease."

Janet slimmed down by following a glycemic-index diet, which is based on managing blood-sugar levels. Jackson, who has struggled with weight her entire life, admits she's an emotional overeater.

"It started when I was very little," she said. "My brothers were gone on tour a lot, and I would miss them so much. Certain things in my life would become triggers. I'm an emotional eater. Everyone has their thing."

Jackson, who's now maintaining her weight loss, is healthier and happier than ever. "I'm really happy with the way that I feel at the moment," she said. "I feel very good. It's been a long time since I've felt this good."
