Alec Baldwin looked healthy and fit at the Stella McCartney autumn 2013 fashion presentation in New York on Jan. 8.
Baldwin, who was accompanied to the event by wife Hilaria Thomas, 28, wore a tailored dark suit with a blue scarf.
Alec has successfully maintained an impressive 30-pound weight loss for over a year by cutting back on sugar intake and working out regularly. "I gave up sugar," said Baldwin, 54. "I lost 30 pounds in four months. It's amazing.
Alec, who was diagnosed with pre-diabetes in May 2011, drastically scaled back on sugar and did Pilates, spinning and yoga to slim down.
It also helps that Baldwin is married to a fitness-minded yoga instructor who follows a meat- and dairy-free diet.
While exercise and weight loss is key to managing pre-diabetes, Baldwin says eating smaller portions and cutting sugar out of his diet had the most dramatic impact on his looks and overall health.
"I do Pilates and spin, but I don't do as much yoga as I'd like," he said. "When we're shooting and I can't work out, I just have to eat less, so I'm very conscious of that. But sugar was the real killer for me. That was the problem."
