Slideshow: The 2013 Rose Parade in Pasadena (Photos)

The 124th Rose Parade drew an estimated one million people this morning to line along Colorado Avenue in Pasadena and enjoy the many colorful floats, marching bands and equestrians. Along with an American television and live streaming audience of an estimated 40 million and hundreds of millions more watching in countries throughout the world, the Rose Parade is unquestionably one of the most popular parades on the planet.

While it’s convenient to be able to watch the Rose Parade in the comfort on one’s home, many Americans and international travelers wish they could have been on hand for the New Year’s tradition that began in 1890. It’s often said that the only way to enjoy the Rose Parade is to see it live but not everyone can make it to Pasadena, let along the United States. Fortunately, because of the expansive nature of online media, digital photos of the crowd-pleasing event were made available nearly as quickly as a photo was taken.
