St. Patrick's Day festivities have started early at Downtown Disney, where Raglan Road restaurant and pub kicked off its Mighty Festival on March 8. Like any good Irish party, there was plenty of good food and drink, as well as lively entertainment.
Click the slideshow at the top of this article for highlights of the kick-off. Entertainment included the talented youngsters of the Willis Clan. They performed two sets of their songs and showed off their Irish dance steps (even the youngest family member, who's only two, joined in the dancing and stole everyone's heart). Also onstage was house band Creel and, of course, the Raglan Road dancers, who performed and had youngsters from the audience join them.
The Guinness flowed freely, as did other libations, and there was plenty of food, just as there is all year 'round at the restaurant.
The festivities continue on March 9 and 10, when the Willis Clan will be back at Raglan Road for more performances. They'll also appear from March 14 to 17, along with Creel and the dancers. U2 cover band Elevation joins them on March 16 and 17.
The fun spills over out into Pleasure Island, with entertainment on the Waterfront Stage, plus stilt walkers and painting to delight the whole family.
Parking at Downtown Disney is free, but come early, especially if you're aiming to visit on St. Patrick's Day, because the lots fill up and the restaurant is sure to be crowded as holiday revelers join in the fun.
