Today marks the one-year anniversary of the last time Caylee Anthony was seen alive. Maggie Rodriguez on CBS “The Early Show” interviewed grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony.  George Anthony was the last person to see Caylee, as she and her mother, Casey headed out of their Orlando, Florida home. Casey had failed to report her mother missing for one month, and it was Caylee’s grandmother, Cindy Anthony who, when alerted to Caylee’s disappearance, notified authorities by calling 911.

The case has garnered unprecedented media attention in the past year, with nearly nightly coverage from HLN’s Nancy Grace. The grandparents, George and Cindy have been sympathized with and even vilified in the case, but there is no doubt that they have suffered a tremendous loss with the death of their grandchild, Caylee. The Anthony’s stated in their early morning interview that they want to focus their attention on helping other families whose missing children. Cindy Anthony pointed out that many missing children have been forgotten.

A vigil, sponsored by a Facebook group, In Memory of Caylee Anthony, will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time at J. Blanchard Park. The Facebook group is operated by four members, one including Richard Grund. Casey Anthony was previously engaged to Richard’s son, Jesse. At one point, Richard Grund believed he was Caylee Anthony’s paternal grandfather.
