The free horror game Slender became an unexpected phenomenon when it was released last year. The recently founded Majesco Entertainment Company announced earlier today that the game's successor, Slender: The Arrival, is making its way to Steam in time for Halloween. Developed by the creative minds behind the popular Marble Hornets series, in collaboration with Victor Surge, the creator of Slender Man, this title expands upon the previously established lore.
Players take on the role of Laura, a realtor who has decided to help her friend Kate sell her scenic property. Things go awry when Laura arrives to find Kate missing. Just like the original game, now titled Slender: The Eight Pages, players will have to search through ominous areas, armed with no means of defense against the dark force that is lurking just behind them.
The updated Steam version of Arrival will feature a deeper story, extended levels and a new character not previously seen in Eight Pages. Players have only their flashlight and a camcorder to keep them company. The game is also compatible with Oculus Rift, which will add a whole new level of captivation. Slender: The Arrival will be available to download on October 28th, with a console version planned for the first quarter of next year. The game is priced at $9.99
