Who’s ready to hitch up some midwinter fun and horsing around in the snow?
The Wisconsin State Horse Council (WSHC) Equine Foundation hosts Winter Day in the Park on Saturday, February 9, in Columbus. The main draw is the popular Sleigh Rally, held in Columbus Firemans Park.. This American Driving Society-sanctioned competition features a cones course, a Currier & Ives event, and pleasure driving.
This exciting cold-weather festival includes several additional family-friendly highlights:

Proceeds from the WSHC Equine Foundation’s Winter Day in the Park benefit equine feed bank and grant programs in the region.

Fireside Farm welcomes United States Dressage Federation professional and judge Lilo Fore for a weekend training clinic in Camp Lake, Wisconsin, on Saturday, February 9, and Sunday, February 10.
Equine Educational Extravaganza
On February 9, Arriviste Arabians, of Lockport, Illinois, presents an all-day instructional event for horse lovers, including an Arabian breed demonstration and contests in creative arts, hippology, and novice judging.

The Wisconsin Horse Council’s District 2 hosts an instructional gathering on February 10 in Antigo. Topics include equine nutrition, legal issues, wellness, and more.
Hunter-Jumper Horse Show
The Northern Illinois Hunter/Jumper Association launches the 2013 season with a three-day horse show at Fields and Fences Equestrian Center in Gurnee, Illinois. The NIHJA show runs from February 8 to 10.
Open Fun Show
Deerfield’s Showtime Arena kicks it up with English/Western halter, showmanship, equitation and pleasure classes in an open fun show on February 10.
Pony Rides
