SLC Police use youtube to solve cold cases

The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is trying a new way to solve some old cold cases; by putting the cold cases on youtube.  The Salt Lake Tribune reported yesterday that there are currently 108 unsolved murder cases in Utah.  The SLCPD is gathering information and creating a video, and placing it on youtube in hope that someone has information that will help solve the crime.  Currently, the SLCPD offers a $5,000 reward in each of these cases for information that will lead to a conviction of a killer.  The SLCPD will put a cold case on youtube every 8-10 weeks.

Youtube – SLCPD has listed an array of videos that include: tribute ceremonies, press conferences, information on cold cases, most wanted list, some police training classes, and interviews with the Chief of Police Chris Burbank.  The link to the SLCPD page is here
