Have you ever wanted to eat a hamburger and a donut at the same time? Yeah, it sounds pretty nasty, or does it not? Anyway, if the combination of these two behemoths of foods interests you, maybe you should think about grabbing a bite to eat at Slater’s 50/50, where you get to design your own burgers.
Through the passion put in from founder, Scott Slater, after Slater’s 50/50 was established in 2009 in Anaheim Hills, this restaurant has quickly become popular with guests from all around Anaheim and the United States. After its inception, year after year, they have received various awards for the phenomenal food they present to their customers. After taking the Southern California restaurant scene by storm, Slater’s 50/50 began to be seen on Discovery Channel’s “United States of Bacon,” Travel Channel’s “Bacon Paradise,” and even on the former series on Travel Channel, “Man vs. Food.”
What really draws the crowd to this restaurant experience is the interactivity involved with being given the option to build your own burger. For a restaurant, it is an incredibly daring decision to make, giving customers the chance to be their own chef. With a vibrant atmosphere and meal-making process that seems reminiscent of the sandwich restaurant known as “Which Wich.”
Amongst the various hamburger options at Slater’s 50/50, they do have a menu specifically for guests who are gluten-free. Gluten-free customers are still able to enjoy the famous 50/50 burger with the choice of Udi’s Gluten-Free Bun or wrapped in lettuce. Either way, it seems as if this restaurant really does live by their motto which is, “Everything we do is to improve the guest experience.”
Other than all of the different donut hamburgers or peanut butter hamburgers and other whacky food combinations, guests are able to design their very own milkshakes. One of the most famous shakes ever created has been a showcase for all bacon lovers and was one of the reasons why Slater’s 50/50 ended up on “Man vs. Food,” and that is the Bacon Shake. This combination may sound bizarre, but with the mixture of the salty, syrupy taste of bacon with the sweet taste of vanilla, it gives the taste buds an enjoyable kick that you have no way of escaping.
Now, if you are just looking to enjoy some good food or just enjoy a cold one, Slater’s 50/50 has what you want.
