'Skyrim' DLC release date for PS3 announced

It’s official: the PS3 release date for the “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” DLC's is Feb. 12 (for "Dragonborn"), 19 ("Hearthfire"), and 26 ("Dawnguard"), IGN writer Luke Karmali says on Feb. 1.

There are three DLC’s for “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,” and they have all had a long process in reaching the PS3. In a previous article, Bethesda outlined the arduous process in bringing the DLC’s to life: the 360 versions were meant for “30 days of exclusivity,” but due to technical issues were delayed; PC versions were delayed for quite some time; and the PS3 versions were looking at “indefinite” delays.

Then, on Jan. 18, 2013, Bethesda announced that they predicted a Feb. 2013 release for the PS3’s content. And they were correct. Taking to Twitter, Bethesda VP Pete Hines wrote: “Dragonborn confirmed 2/12 release in N. America. Hearthfire on 2/19. Dawnguard on 2/26. Still waiting on dates for Europe.”

He went on to mention that “Dragonborn” and “Dawnguard” will both cost $20, while “Hearthfire” will only be $5. As previously mentioned, for the first week of their release all DLC content will be discounted 50%.
