As the final part of 4J Studios’ celebration of the second anniversary of the launch Minecraft on Xbox 360, the game’s first two mash-up packs are now on sale for this weekend only. The sale is part of the continued effort to honor the second year since the release of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition which started last Friday. Fans can also pick up tow free Birthday Skin Packs that will be available to download until May 18, when the mash-up sale is also scheduled to conclude.

This past weekend, 4J Studios featured a sale discounting most skin and texture pack offering that have released thus far for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. However, neither of the title’s current mash-up packs were included in the previous sale. Thankfully for fans wanting to purchase the additional add-ons, the developer is closing out the anniversary celebration by giving the mash-up packs a sales weekend of their own.

Minecraft mash-up packs are designed to combine the world of Minecraft with other popular gaming franchises by altering the textures, landmarks, music, and user interface of the title’s voxel worlds. Currently, the developer has released mash-up packs based upon Bioware’s Mass Effect series as well as the latest installment of the popular fantasy franchise The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Since the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft first launched two years ago, 4J Studios has also released the game on Playstation 3. Further determined to expand the series’ presence to even more home consoles, the developer is now working on versions of the game set to launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita.
