Aaron Webber has posted a comparison between the Playstation 3 ports of “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” and “Bayonetta.” According to his response from the comments section of the Playstation.Blog on Jan. 29, the associate brand manager for Sega of America revealed that both games got patched to address the initial issues. He also noted that the Playstation 3 versions still got great reviews regardless of the flaws. You can check out some screens from “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from Aaron Webber below:
Skyrim PS3 is actually a great comparison, for two reasons: First, it was patched to address the issues, and second, even -with- the differences, reviewers felt like Skyrim was a good enough game to merit such scores regardless of any flaws. (And personally, having sunk 100+ hours into Skyrim, I’d agree!)
The bottom line is that games like Bayonetta and Skyrim get high / perfect reviews for one simple reason: People feel that overall, they’re fantastic video games
“Bayonetta” was released in North America on Jan. 5, 2010. The Playstation 3 port of the action game, which was done by another studio instead of the original development team, suffered from numerous issues when compared from the Xbox 360 version. “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” came out on Nov. 11, 2011. Just like the aforementioned title, the action role-playing game was plagued with shortcomings on the Playstation 3 compared to the PC and Xbox 360 versions.
