A wire-haired terrier named Sky won the Best of Show title at the 138th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York on Feb.11, 2014. The WKC dog show was held at Madison Square Garden in New York and televised nationwide on USA Network. The annual event s a great way to learn about the various breeds of canines, especially valuable for families considering bringing a new pet into the home. While the dogs shown at the WKC show are purebreds, they share characteristics with mixed breed dogs.
This was Sky's 129th best in show ribbon overall . She has previously won the National Dog Show and the top AKC event. A wire fox terrier has won 14 times at the nation's top dog show. No other breed has won more than eight times.
Sky won "Best in Show" from an impressive lineup of champions, the winners of Best of Group. Sky, the winner of the Terrier Group, shared the ring with white standard Poodle, the Portugese Water Spaniel, the Bloodhound, Irish water spaniel, Cardigan Welsh corgi and Miniature Pinscher.

RBIS - GCH Brighton Lakeridge Encore. The Standard Poodle was named the Best of the Non-Sporting Group and chosen as the Best in Show (reserve). Much like the first runner-up in a beauty pageant, the reserve could be called upon to substitute for the Best in Show.

GCH Marlex Classic Red Glare: The Miniature Pinscher was the Best of the Toy Group.
