Indie pop singer Sky Ferreira made her television debut Monday Night on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” She delivered a live rendition of her much buzzed about track, “Everything is Embarrassing.”
Backed by “Fallon” house band The Roots, Ferreira was front and center to sing her gloomy dance ballad. Aside from some smoke and lights that surrounded Ferreira, she let her voice do the talking during the ardent performance. It was a captivating show for her first late night television audience.
“Congrats @SkyFerreira you did it! You did awesome! Can't wait to work with you again,” The Roots' Questlove wrote to rising singer on Twitter following her performance
Ferreira has been riding the positive clout behind last year's “Ghost” EP. “Everything is Embarrassing,” a track on the release, ended up on many music critics' best of 2012 lists, including a No. 2 spot on Examiner.com's lineup. She followed the aforementioned song with a video premiere last week for another EP cut, “Lost in My Bedroom.”
The “Ghost” EP was released back in October and hit No. 11 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart.
