Skrillex is at the most dangerous crossroads of his young career. On one end, the Grammy nominations and sold-out tours validate all of the hard work the young Angelino has put into his craft. On the other hand, it’s now going to cost fans upwards of $70 to purchase a ticket for him after only four EPs and 18 months of being in society’s collective conscious. Regardless of your taste, you can’t knock the man for lack of determination, as his touring schedule is insane and he seemingly gives no time for himself to live, breathe, and recuperate.
After opening up his own record label (OWSLA), signing some formidable new talent (Porter Robinson, Alvin Risk, M Machine), and making an album with KoRn (???), Sonny Moore is bringing his tour back home with a six show in six nights sweep through every corner of LA. From the Avalon to the Exchange, expect to see his eye for talent live, as most of his openers are labelmates or those he helped launch. His new Bangarang EP is getting massive play and is a step up in his recording sessions. Head to one of the following shows to see the young man at the height of his fame.
Jan 24 - Cinespace (with Alvin Risk, KOAN Sound)
Jan 25 - Echoplex (with 12th Planet, Diplo and Franki Chan) -
