Skrillex unveils 'Summit' video sans Ellie Goulding, releases 'Leaving' EP

It's been an eventful week for Skrillex. On Wednesday, the dubstep producer released the music video for “Summit,” a collaboration with former flame Ellie Goulding, and he also dropped a new and unexpected EP on Thursday via YouTube.

“Big up to my friends in Perth for surprising me with this video... LOSTBOYS,” he writes under the “Summit” video window.

“Summit” is lifted from Skrillex's Grammy-nominated “Bangarang” EP. He collaborated with ex-girlfriend Ellie Goulding on the electronic track when they were going out. She does not appear in the song's colorful clip, directed by Pilerats. In the video, a group of friends are up to crazy antics in Perth, Australia before one of Skrillex's sets takes center stage.

While “Summit” is a look back at last year's “Bangarang” EP, the DJ is already looking forward with a refined sound. Skrillex released an EP titled “Leaving” to Youtube. All three tracks from the brief set are uploaded to the video site. The new songs see Skrillex exploring different territory with his dubstep sound restrained at some points (“Leaving”) then soaked up in reggae (“Scary Bolly Dub”) on others. New year, new Skrillex.
