Skolfield and Coiley power Foxcroft to 39-36 victory over Dexter

DEXTER-- Brianna Skolfield recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Foxcroft Ponies girls basketball team to a 39-36 victory over the Dexter Tigers at Guiski Gymnasium on Thursday evening.

The Ponies outscored Dexter 12-6 in the final quarter.

Mackenzie Coiley scored 10 points for the Ponies. Brittany Dyer added six points.

Julia Annis put in four points and grabbed seven rebounds. Amber Anderson chipped in with four points.

Foxcroft (2-1) will continue their very tough schedule on Saturday when they host Caribou.

The Ponies started the season by defeating Ellsworth and falling to a very solid MDI team.

Michaela White and Peyton Watson scored 10 points each to lead the Tigers. Tasha Pratt added six points, while Bobbie Chambers chipped in with four.

Abbey Jordan scored two points for Dexter. Megan Peach scored two points and grabbed seven rebounds. Abbie Melvin scored two points and pulled down six rebounds.

Foxcroft out-rebounded Dexter 33-26. Foxcroft shot 5-17 from the free throw line. Dexter shot 4-7 from the line.

Dexter (2-1) will travel undefeated Orono on Saturday.
