One of the larger ski resorts in Argentina is the well known Las Lenas. With powder snow, great climate and excellent opportunities for extreme skiing, it is located in the western part of Mendoza Province
Construction started in January 1983 and the resort was opened in July of the same year With an on-site hotel with 300 beds, the ski area has an excellent diversity of slopes
From entry level “baby” slopes to the extreme, the base area starts at 7350 feet and climbs to 11,253. The usable surface is over one squire mile, and includes 27 different runs
While the ski season starts in mid June and running to mid October, the center is also open during the summer for mountain biking, climbing and horse riding.
Accomodations? The visitor has a hard decision to make between luxury apartment hotels and sleep houses. With a small shopping mall on site, the center is self-contained and skiers don't have to take precious time away from the slopes to get banking, grocery shopping or search for souvenirs.
The coffee houses, restaurants and night clubs on-site round out the center and makes for a convenient social life since the center is far away from large cities.
