Ski With Celebrities This Weekend

In celebration of Winter Break for Massachusetts public schools, the Nashoba Valley Ski Area will bring two skiing celebrities to their slopes this weekend, February 17 through 19.

Freestyle legend Wayne Wong and Olympic skier Pam Fletcher will both be skiing Nashoba, and skiers are welcome to join them wherever they show up on the mountain.

Wong was born and raised in Vancouver, British Colmbia.  Credited with developing and promotig the sport of freestyle skiing, he was named Skiing Magazine's 1972 Freestyle Skiers of the Year.  He has won the title of champion of numerous competitions throughout the years since then.  He has appeared on various magazines' top influential skier lists, and bore the torch for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.  He has also been widely recognized for his dedication to charities and was inducted into the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame in 2009.

Fletcher was the woman's World Ski Champion for downhill in 1986 and participated in the l988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada.

The two noted skiers will be lunching at the resort's Outlook Restaurant lodge during the weekend.

Nashoba Valley, a 50-minute drive from Boston, has 17 trails, all open, and 10 lifts.  Its snow tubing park, with 18 lanes, is the largest in New England.  No equipment or skills are needed to tube at the park.

During Winter Break week, any days, the resort is offering a three-day lesson and lift ticket package for $185.
