Ski season winding down in Tahoe

See also

Ski season is winding down in Lake Tahoe. The resorts are gliding into the closing days with awesome conditions, thanks to the storms of last week. Better late than never.

The reports from all of the resorts is that this really is some of the best skiing that they've had all season. With quite a good bit of new snow covering the trails, returning skiers are saying the same thing.

What happens at this time of year is the season pass sales for next ski season are about as good a deal as you'll get. Pick your resort, and they have season passes on sale.

They also have some outrageous spring skiing offers too. Mt. Rose will honor any season pass from anywhere. Show it and get a $29 lift ticket. Squaw, Alpine, Kirkwood also have deals for season pass holders from other resorts.

The season started slowly, and is finishing with a decided bang. Sierra-at-Tahoe's Steve Hemphill says that they will finish the season with their traditional last run at the resort.

Here's what they do, according to Hemphill, "...Sierra Resort invites all guests to join John Rice, Sierra Resort General Manager, and the rest of Sierra Resort’s managing team for the official “last run of the season” from the top of Grandview Express beginning at 2 or 3 p.m. (TBD). That's followed by the last call at the Sierra Pub where guests can reminisce about the season and "cheers" to another winter in the books. It's a great opportunity for guests to celebrate winter and enjoy one last run on the mountain."

This will happen on their last day of operations, April 20th. It's well worth the time to say goodbye to this season in such a grand fashion, at a great resort.
