The annual Ski Rex ski season sale starts this Friday at Colorado Ski & Golf, Colorado Ski & Sports and Boulder Ski Deals stores with sale prices in effect through Sunday, Sept. 14. In addition to all kinds of ski and snowboard stuff, Ski Rex will feature free ski recycling, Burton’s Riglet Park, Junior Trade In, Epic Pass sales, registration for Vail Resort’s School of Shred program, and more.

Friday’s hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday and Monday (Labor Day) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Colorado Ski & Golf stores are located in Aurora (2650 S. Havana), Arvada (7715 Wadsworth), Colorado Springs (2454 Montebello Square Drive) and Littleton (8100 W. Crestline). Boulder Ski Deals is located at 2525 Arapahoe Avenue, and Colorado Ski & Sports is at 8691 Park Meadows Center Drive in Lone Tree.

What you’ll find there are brand name skis, snowboards, clothing, helmets and accessories from last season’s inventory priced at 30-75 percent off, including overstocked and specially-purchased inventory. The latest technology and equipment models will also be on sale at pre-season prices.

For the seventh year, old and unwanted skis, snowboards, boots and poles can be recycled for free during Ski Rex at all locations. So far, 480 tons have been recycled and kept out of landfills through this program.

While there, you can register your 5th and 6th graders for Vail Resort’s School of Shred program, which gives them four days of free skiing at each of Vail’s resorts, as well as Arapahoe Basin. Those kids who’ve never skied or boarded before get on free day of equipment rentals and a beginner lessons. Vail Resorts will also be on hand selling the various Epic season passes. This is the weekend to get your passes as prices are expected to go up after Labor Day.

Burton’s Riglet Park will be featured at the Aurora Ski & Golf location, where kids can try snowboarding on this learn-to-rid course guided by Keystone instructors for free.

The annual Junior Trade In program gives younger skiers and boarder the opportunity to rent for a for the season and exchange gear each season as they grow into new equipment. Prices start at $99.99 for the first full season, and $49.99 for subsequent full season on used equipment ($199 for new gear the first year and $99.99 for subsequent seasons.
