Miley Cyrus and her “U.S. Bangerz Tour” will resume on Aug. 1, 2014 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale. It seems kind of strange that Cyrus will be taking a big chunk of the summer off. She is going to miss nearly all of the warm weather concert season due to health reasons. It’s been reported that the former Disney child star had an adverse reaction to some antibiotics. Nevertheless, fans are left wondering if all is well with the Princess of Twerk.
The headlines suggest Miley had an extreme sinus infection that required medical treatment and resulted in hospitalization. After taking the medication which had been prescribed for her, the ex-Hannah Montana television queen quickly developed symptoms. She subsequently canceled her Bangerz Tour, which has now been rescheduled. But the daughter of southern fried “Achy Breaky Heart” crooner Billy Ray Cyrus is popular with twenty-somethings these days. What caused team Cyrus to take such drastic action with Miley?
According to one recent article published May 2, 2014 by myfoxphilly.com, “Miley Cyrus Concert Rescheduled Due To Allergic Reaction,” the antibiotic “cephalexin” is what made the singer ill. Cephalexin is fairly common. The fitness and wellbeing site everdayhealth.com points out that cephalexin is used to “fight bacteria in the body” which cause “respiratory tract infections, ear infections, skin infections and urinary tract infections.”
Oddly enough, this is the same antibiotic prescribed for people who are allergic to penicillin. It’s not clear if the same applies to Miley. All the same, 12 weeks is a long time to be out of commission. Cyrus must have quite an allergy. But then again, the question arises, in all her years as a Disney kid, nobody ever knew about Miley’s condition? Of course, suspicions always linger when a big name entertainer is in the news. Lately, anything Miley Cyrus does is news.
Let’s hope she makes a full recovery and comes back strong as ever by the time August rolls around. But knowing Cyrus, she would never let something like a little antibiotic get in the way of her spliffs and twerking. As they say, she’s a real trooper.
