The Huntsville, AL Dixie Derby Girls Roller Derby League will return to the Von Braun Center South Hall with the second episode of the Skate Wars saga: The Fempire Strikes Back on June 18th.
This will mark the third bout of the Dixie Derby Girls double header season, with the Rocket City Rollers squaring off against the Tragic City Plan B team at 5:00pm, and the Raging Rocket All-Stars facing the Derby City Rollergirls at 7pm.
Currently ranked #19 in the South Central conference, the Dixie Derby Girls Raging Rockets will need to step up their games to take on Derby City, who are ranked #17 in the North Central division. Will DDG be able to gain back the respect on the WFTDA rankings?
In conjunction with the Skate Wars theme, Huntsville's 501st Legion Storm Troopers will be present for the event, giving children and fans great photo opportunities. This event is reprising last summer's Skate Wars: Return of the Black Eye bout and has proven to become a fan favorite in the Dixie Derby Girls season.
After the last bout is over, the Official Afterparty will continue at the End Zone (1909 University Drive, Huntsville), where fans 21 and up are invited to meet and mingle with skaters from all the teams.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door and good for admission to both bouts. Children 12 and under get in free. 10% of ticket sales will benefit the Aids Action Coalition. Doors open at 4:00PM.
