On February 17, the official line-up for the 2014 Skate and Surf Festival was announced.

Leading the line-up are two big reunions. First off, New Jersey pop-punk band Midtown will be performing for the first time together since breaking up in 2005. Since breaking up, lead singer Gabe Saporta has become known for his dance-pop group Cobra Starship, which had a sizable hit in 2011 with “You Make Me Feel…” Guitarist Heath Saraceno joined another prominent New Jersey band, Senses Fail, from 2005 until 2009.

The second reunion brings together Saosin with their former lead singer Anthony Green. After the band released their first EP, ‘Translating the name,’ in 2003, Green left the band in 2004 to start Circa Survive (who are also playing the festival). In an interview with Property of Zack, bassist Chris Sorenson said that reunion talks have been going on since 2010. Saosin has been fairly inactive since 2010.

Other bands playing Skate and Surf include New York locals DMX, NGHBRS, and Patent Pending, and New Jersey’s The Early November, among others. More bands will be announced soon.

The 2014 Skate and Surf Festival will take place Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18 at the Middletown Sports Complex. Both Saosin and Midtown will be headlining on May 17. Midtown will also be headlining on May 18, along with a second, mystery headliner. This is the second year the festival has been brought back “to its roots” after becoming the massive, three-day Bamboozle Festival for eight years.

Passes for the entire weekend are now on sale through the Skate and Surf website. Weekend passes are $104.99. Single day tickets will go on sale March 18.
