Skarrg Goliath from 'Gatecrash' revealed

Skarrg Goliath is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Gatecrash." Skarrg Goliath is the "Gatecrash" launch weekend promotional alternate art foil card.

Eight mana for a 9/9 trampler isn't exactly the most exciting power to mana ratio that we've seen, however Skarrg Goliath's ability to used as a surprise pump spell like Rubblehulk makes Skarrg Goliath into a deadly piece of creature removal or game ending "spell." Once you've hit seven mana it'll be "Goliath online."

We haven't seen much of the new set, however it's a pretty safe bet that at 9/9 there isn't many creatures which will survive against it in combat. Even if they have protection from green, regenerate, or have deathtouch you'll still be able to trample your way to victory.

Between it's enormous size and pump factor, Skarrg Goliath will be a very deadly creature in limited.
