Sizzling Summer TV: 4th of July weekend TV specials & marathons


There's no shortage of specials and marathons on TV this 4th of July.

There's plenty of activity to keep you busy this holiday weekend in St. Louis, from fireworks to concerts to barbecues. All this activity is probably why the 4th of July typically brings about the lowest TV ratings of the year.

But in case you need a break from all the festivities or want to kick back with the remote for a few hours, here's a look at the Independence Day specials and marathons you can choose from.

    I love how our local television stations do not even bother to cover the fireworks here in St. Louis. They would rather show New York's or Boston's?? Clearly these producers are not from around here.
