Six-year-old Maced: Merciless attack done in laundromat

A six-year-old was Maced after a man beat up the little girl's father in a Bronx laundromat Saturday evening, New York Daily News reports Feb. 18.

Fernando Gonzales barged into a coin laundromat on East 243rd Street and White Plains Road around 6:10 p.m and began beating up Derrick Dunn, police sources reveal. Surveillance video captures the attack in which the Gonzales goes after Dunn. The two men didn't know each other, but as the report went on to say, Dunn had gotten into an argument with the attacker's girlfriend earlier over the use of a laundry cart. A while later, Gonzales surfaced inside the facility -- approached an unsuspecting Dunn -- and began beating him. When he was finished, he pulled out a can of mace and sprayed him. Unfortunately, he didn't leave out Dunn's six-year-old daughter in the attack. She was also sprayed with the substance. Others were inside the laundromat when the attack took place, but they stayed away from the situation.

A few hours after the violent incident, Gonzales surrendered to law enforcement. Police say Gonzales has been arrested for assault.

It's bad enough when someone attacks an adult, but to harm a child is beyond revolting. The girl had the trauma of witnessing her father be attacked along with being submerged in the mace herself.
