A six-year-old girl was Maced and her father beaten up by a New York man who turned himself into police custody after a surveillance video captured the brutal beating at Giant Laundromat. Witnesses of the six-year-old’s Macing incident report that Fernando Gonzalez, the 27-year-old New York man was angry that someone else had taken his girlfriend’s laundry cart.
According to a Mail Online report on Feb. 19, 2013, “Fernando Gonzalez walked into Giant Laundromat in the Wakefield section of The Bronx Saturday and charged at 47-year-old Derrick Dunn before Macing his daughter.”
During the feud inside Giant Laundromat on White Plains Road in The Bronx, Fernando Gonzalez allegedly took several swings at the six-year-old girl’s father. After beating up the father, Fernando Gonzalez pulled out a canister of Mace and sprayed the six-year-old girl and her father. The chemical agent in the Mace required the six-year-old girl and her father to go to a hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
The surveillance video shows 27-year-old Fernando Gonzalez as a heavyset man who is viciously pounding on the six-year-old girl’s father.
The brutal assault of the father was captured on a 17-second video around 6:10 p.m. on Saturday. After police released the video footage of the beating and the Macing on Monday, Fernando Gonzalez turned himself in at around 8 p.m. on Monday night.
While the video shows Fernando Gonzalez entering Giant Laundromat and brutally beating up the father, it does not clarify what exactly was the cause of the feud.
Since other sources report that the argument began earlier between Fernando Gonzalez’ girlfriend and the father and that Fernando Gonzalez came to Giant Laundromat because his girlfriend had called him, a police investigation will most likely shed more light into the incident that caused a six-year-old girl to be Maced.
