Fernando Gonzalez turned himself into police after a video was distributed that showed him beating on and using mace on Derrick Dunn and his six-year-old daughter in a launder mat according to a Feb. 19 report on International Business Times.
Gonzalez, 27, went to the Bronx Laundromat and beat up Dunn over a disagreement over laundry carts. He then used mace on the little girl and her 47-year-old father.
The laundromat’s security video shows Gonzalez bursting into the establishment where he began punching Dunn. He can be seen holding Dunn down as he prepares to spray him and his daughter with the bottle of mace he carried in.
Two other people in the Laundromat were treated by fire department respondents to the scene because they were also sprayed with mace. They had to be taken to a nearby hospital where their minor injuries were treated before they were released.
Witness Rita Ferguson told ABC that "It was really, really awful. The way he beat that man was horrible. He started spraying, we thought it was a gun or something.”
Gonzalez was retaliating for an argument that had taken place between Dunn and an unidentified woman who had been with Gonzalez.
